Zayra Yves: Soul

"If this life is fragile, and we are often too easily broken, then let today be the day we celebrate love...."

I Believe in Your Broken Wings
- by Zayra Yves

A restless bird is your soul
waiting to enter the house of eternity
to be reborn as a blue lotus -
as enlightened.

And, I believe in you
in spite of the blood, mud and straw.

If you collapse
to the thunder of threatening sky
sideways blowing of rain

then you will forget
your purpose is to carry
heaven to earth.

Your humble body
translates the sorrow of trees
as you lie in the valley of broken wings
where a thousand things join.

In silent sacrifice
you have given your love
to the barefoot, to the crowns,
and to those with power,

while taking nothing for yourself
except the quiet learning of gratitude
and generosity.

As you enter the house of truth
to open the windows...

leave the land of burnt flesh
forsake countless exhaled breaths
leave terrors of brooding nights
forsake teeth, meat and bones.

Let peace be unfastened
from the streets of heaven.

I have witnessed your long journey
between stars.

I have seen the earth shape a story
under the weight of feet
as the seeker is forever walking
with love stuck in the throat.

Come into daylight without end
where the face of evil is erased
where kindness lives side by side.

Yes, I too have fallen face down
only to stand again in awareness...
to discover

there is nothing beyond
the idea of self, nothing
except Love.

Yes, you are blessed.

It is past time for you rise up
to release the dust of sleep...

claim your birthright out of chaos,
resurrect the temple
of your heart.
